Cecil Curtis Cowden Jr, 70, of Paso Robles CA, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on January 21st at 1:00 PM at The Inn at Morro Bay’s Alcove Room, located at 60 State Park Rd, Morro Bay, California, 93442.

Cecil Curtis Cowden Jr, 70, of Paso Robles CA, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on January 21st at 1:00 PM at The Inn at Morro Bay’s Alcove Room, located at 60 State Park Rd, Morro Bay, California, 93442.



Cecil was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on September 27, 1947, the son of Cecil Cowden Sr and Berta D. Cowden (Land). His family relocated to Southern California in 1950. He went to school and graduated from Culver City High School. He worked for the telephone company, GTE, while attending college. He married Vera Graf on February 23, 1974. Together they had a daughter Laura and a son Richard. Cecil received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from California Lutheran University and continued working for GTE for 25 years, eventually retiring his role as an Accounting Administrator. In 1992, his wife, son, and daughter relocated to Paso Robles where Cecil began working for the Atascadero Mutual Water Company, taking on the role of Treasurer. Cecil and Vera loved dancing and singing karaoke together with friends and family. Cecil also enjoyed fishing, camping, and participating in Indian gaming activities. He was also blessed with several artistic talents, including photography and painting. He loved his family, and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. His family and friends will miss him dearly. He was a very humorous, kind and was gracious to strangers and made friends easily. He always offered help to those around him in need.



Cecil is survived by his sister Sandra of Fresno, sister Helen, daughter Laura, granddaughter Emily, granddaughter Rachel, grandson David, son Richard, and daughter-in-law Tan.



Cecil was preceded in death by his wife Vera and sister Carolyn.
